Year 11 Business Studies students competed in the 2017 Newcastle University Business Plan Competition and have been recognised by the University for outstanding achievement.
The University of Newcastle received an impressive 332 plans with 438 participating students from all over the state. Students were tasked to write a creative business plan for a new small-medium enterprise (SME) in the form of a business report.
“It is so important for our young people to be novel and adaptive in their thinking. These students have been recognised for their proficiency at thinking and coming up with solutions and responses beyond that which are rote or rule-based,” says Mr Cush Year 11 Business Studies Teacher.
“I’ve enjoyed the small business project, it is amazing how much planning and idea generation is required to get a concept off the ground,” commented Year 11 student Olivia Fahey.

- Sophia Pesavento – Awarded certificate of Merit for her work on ‘Fif’s Babysitting’
