Rewards excursion - Maths Competition 20-Aug-2009 The Mathematics Department is running an excursion to Luna Park on Monday 2nd November 2009. This excursion is to complement the Westpac Mathematics Competition and is a reward for the students who participated in this internationally recognised event. This excursion has been organised through the Mathematical Association of NSW (MANSW). While the spirit of the excursion is to incorporate fun into learning of Mathematics, it will also have a curriculum focus. Students will be provided with worksheets prepared by MANSW which support the secondary NSW Mathematics Syllabus. Students will learn about mathematics in motion as they ride at this fun excursion.

We will be travelling to and from Luna Park by coach supplied by Premier Illawarra. Upon arrival at Luna Park students will receive their prepaid tickets and they will have unlimited access to all rides including Coney Island., provided they pass the specific height restrictions for the ride.

Students are encouraged to bring their own nutritious lunch and a drink, preferably water, as food at Luna Park is expensive. If this is not possible allow approximately $20 for lunch. The cost of the ticket to Luna Park is $27 and $13 is also required for the fare by coach.

A total of $40 is payable to Cedars Christian College by  Monday 28th September 2009. Please make cheques payable to Cedars Christian College.
